Does anyone here go fishing? Beach or boat? And if anyone in Otago is reading, where are some good spots if you are willing to share.

Reasonably regularly - depending on the weather gods and the state of disrepair of the outboard :-)

Putt-putt around the islands off Wenderholm region. Mostly snapper, occasional Kahawai, and last time a 7ft Hammerhead !!!

Give me Blue Cod over Snapper any day. My son and his mates got 22 Snapper and 4 Gurnard off south coast of Wellington Monday evening.

Fishing? Isn't there an App for that?

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Are there any good shore fishing spots around there? My brothers and I had no luck at Shag Point, on the lighthouse peninsula, and at the Moeraki wharf. My parents live in Palmerston so we are thre fairly regularly.

My old man goes out in his boat off Waiheke in the Tamaki Strait, sometimes I'll go too but on those occasions we never catch anything!
Last week he caught a 6.6kg Kingfish which was a week's worth of dinners :)
