I'm at work today keeping this country going (or so I keep telling myself). Just wondering who else has to or wants to work today?

I'll be working today as well, from 1 till 11 keeping my bank account in the green. I enjoy working public holidays, happily worked Christmas day last year.

I'm working. As an independent contractor who gets paid by the hour, I find it very hard to take time off. This is doubly true considering I get paid in USD, and therefore my income has taken a real hammering since 2009.

Self employed and all of my customers are overseas, so I'm hard at work today (although I started late!)

Despite the beautiful weather here, I'm very happily working all day for a volunteer-run website.

I'm paid in GBP  --- nearly halved in value .

It annoys me watching politicians and local body officials taking big rises when my income has halved.

I've been thinking about throwing in the towel lately, and getting a govt. job.

I forgot all about Waitangi day, I am travelling around the frozen continent of Europe, currently frozen in Belgrade with more snow falling.
