A cup of coffee is 65c.. And that you pour down your throat.

45c is hardly hot.

Which comments did you mean specifically? They seemed fairly reasonable to me (or were earlier comments removed?).

Wow, I didn't know they allowed such idiotic comments

- There's a dual-score CPU in this new iPad though, so you should expect more heat
Awesome, dual-score, is that better than the dual-core in the iPad 2?
- Even then it's very cool compared to how hot other computer devices run, such as laptops whose cases can regularly reach temperatures of 70–80ºC
If your laptop runs that hot, you have a major issue.  Means the CPU would be up around the 100 degree mark.
- First of all bigger battery means more power.
No, it means more capacity.  Which in this case is drained faster, by the new screen/quad core GPU

It's a quad core running a ultra HD display with passive cooling (if at all). What do they want?!

A 40mm high speed Delta fan running @ 10000rpm maybe? :)

I'd take passive over one of the old screamers, any day

Slow news day i think. 10degrees warmer isn't really going to be a problem especially when your talking about it now being 45degrees instead of 35. The extra heat is warranted by the increase in specs.

The quadcore gpu gets me every time, good one apple! By that logic i have a 2240 core gpu

Its not just the HP i7's. Toshiba have the same problem with the Nehalem based i5's/i7's, we have had a few come back due to overheating

It is up to Designers and Manufacturers to produce technology and decide what trade-offs are acceptable.

Lets not try to kid ourselves, This sort of temperature rise is substantial and in a number of products including one apple product has caused problems and been considered a Defect, This is likely compounded in a device intended to have direct skin contact over larger periods of time.

I do have to wonder how this actually happened, Considering the process shrinks and other things heat production is usually going down in these devices Tegra demo's for example, Screen its self may put out a little heat but I wouldn't expect that to be the issue especially in the manner it supposedly scales.
