Have you had one of those calls from an obvious foreign land telling you your computer has a fault?

I've received about 1 a week for the past month, so rather than simply hanging up I wondered what would happen if I played along.

First time, I answered the barely-speaking-English lady's questions with just "yes' or 'no', and then after 3 or 4 minutes of this she hung up.

Next time I kept asking what my computer should be doing and look like ... only 2 minutes that time before disconnecting.

Third time (last night) I claimed 'my computer' looked and worked just like the TV, so my answers were about channels, the remote control, "programs' ... one minute but with an apology for disturbing me !

I thought about stringing them along even longer but then the probably poor operator has no idea what they are doing and paying for the call themselves.

What are your experiences with these calls?

R.

It's a common scam that attempts to trick less tech savy people into installing malware on their computer.
