Hi guys,

after being a bit disappointed with Orcon as I cannot use my FB 7390 - I am looking for a recommended provider that offers VDSL + static IP, is unlimited and not throttled and of course where I can use my FB :)

Any hints here for me maybe?

Thanks guys

Hey guys,

Thanks for the feedback - just checked with Snap - they only have adsl where I am while Orcon offers VDSL - any other providers there that could work out?

Thanks

if one provider can offer VDSL there is no real reason others cant.

That's what I was thinking - seems that either Orcon has an error there - or the others are not up to date...

there are a few cases where Chorus have changed the minimum requirements for VDSL and so existing customers who want to change ISPs find that they can't without losing their VDSL because now they are considered 'out of range'

However, the address checkers through ISP websites are not perfect and so it's worth checking up to see if this is the case.

If you want to send our team an email, they can run a manual check which will give better results than the standard address checker.

(note that even the manual check isn't perfect either, )

You should have no issue using your Fritzbox with Bigpipe, VDSL unlimited costs $89/m with no traffic shaping,  and you can get static IP for a one-off charge of $45  (most other ISPs charge a monthly fee of $10-20, so a one-off charge is a pretty good deal)

Best of luck!
