This is the only outage I can see in the system.

Normally there is an event for a copper cable cut but I can't see one of those, so it must be under this event.

They must have hit the copper cable as well as fibre.

It sounds like it was a rather big mess from the details in the job.

I don't work for Chorus, we buy off them so I have access to all there outage notifications.

Which means we can give out customers decent and timely updates.

I suggest either way they log a fault with there ISP. If they are working there at the moment then maybe they can go and ask them.

There is also a chance they hit a copper cable but as the fibre got hit too, everything went down and they assume it was just a fibre hit

Sounds about right. If there are 100's of pairs it can take a long long time to fix.

Often the records aren't even that good they don't know what goes where.

Had a problem like that with a Car vs pole in Panmure a few months ago.

Doesn't sound like there is much more they can do.

Looks like they can get UFB in July.

It was prob the team installing the UFB who hit the cable.

They don't need UFB for 3 to 5GB per month but they have just paid ChorusNZ to run fibre to a subdivision they are putting in
