Hi,

I'm unsure of where to task, problem is with xnet AND TelecomNZ/Xtra.

First let me explain this. User 1 signed up with Xnet.
User 2 signed up with Xtra.

ADSL Exchange: Taupo.

Now the problem is User 1 who signed up with Xnet, has been waiting 2months and waiting for a adsl connection in the Taupo exchange.
Xnet informed him hes second on a "waiting list" for connections in the Taupo exchange.

Sounds unfortunate, but here's the catch...

User 2 rung up Xtra, got connected within 3days and didn't have to wait for a "connection" like User 1 has been waiting.

Now the problem I ask, TelecomNZ has a very well known history for giving Xtra customers quicker service in the way of flicking the adsl switch on their line.

Are telecom doing something dodgy or is Xnet REALLY that bad?!

Anyone have any answers?
I'm utterly clueless here.

Xnet could have muffed the application but I doubt it, most likely it's fairly automated.

Vertical integration of wholesale and retail always results in this sort of thing in my experience.  It's not supposed to happen but it does.

Chorus > Telecom Wholesale > Xtra

Actually that's a good point.. they could easily be on different exchanges/cabinets

Check using the Telecom wholesale map
