Hi everyone. Just thought I would share my experience with my ISP nznet just in case anyone else is having the same problem. I am posting in here as there is not a nznet forum. It started on Saturday afternoon my internet connection went down and after 3 emails and a phone call this morning I found out that nznet had changed the login name for naked dsl users. So if anyone is with nznet on naked dsl only and experiencing this problem the login name has gone from "username@nznet.co.nz" to "username@naked.nznet.co.nz" without quotes of course. I was about ready to jump ship this morning as I did not hear back from them all weekend but thought no I would ring them first and then half an hour later I received an email on my cellphone explaining this. A bit unfortunate that they didnt notify all customers that would be affected first but over the time I have been with them I have not had any problems with them up to now. Still a great ISP in my books.

I am on the full speed naked dsl 100 GB plan which I notice they have changed slightly as they only list ADSL plans and have naked dsl for $20 a month more. Dont have any problems with performance. Its been great for me.

Maybe you could have a read of the following thread and post some thoughts there? A few of us are interested in hearing about NZNet:

I am still wandering, who the hell does this?

To be honest, that's a fail in my books, how hard is it to set the server to direct to the homepage instead to a stupid message like this, by the time they made this page they could have updated their web server to direct www* and * to the same folder! That's put me off straight away.

Thanks for the heads up, hopefully this solves some frustrations for other users.

Regarding that www subdomain redirector - I see some major brand websites like Samsung NZ that do it too.

Check out samsung.co.nz vs www.samsung.co.nz

Also a few other brands of computer do it too from time to time.

using wildcards with geographical load balancing can sometimes be tricky, so it's not always an oversight.

As for the changing of the nDSL realm, that does indeed seem very odd, I'm sure they would have communicated that to users, I bet they've sent the notification to a mailbox people supplied when they first signed up which may no longer be checked.
