Hi There!
I am trying to migrate to VDSL, but I am having a fair bit of trouble which I think is because the technology is quite young.
I have phone and internet with Orcon but Unleash can offer me VDSL either Naked or just Internet if I get a PSTN Provider like Telecom to take my tolls and local dialing.
I have got a lot of conflicting information about how I can do this with a minimum of disruption.
VF originally said they could do me a Fixed line with no internet but when I went to order it said they wouldn't do it if my Internet was with another provider. Telstra are saying they will do it, and Telecom couldn't say one way or another for sure.
The other issue is with timing. Essentially I would like to move my PSTN Services first to the new provider and leave my internet with Orcon which Orcon say is a valid configuration so long as the churning provider ONLY requests those services and not the internet. Other providers have said you can't churn a single service on a line and when they move the line to Telstra, the internet will go offline until Unleash arrange the vdsl2 which can't happen till after the sign off by Chorus, meaning I could have a week or more of no internet.
Naked DSL seems to be the most simple (Since I'd rather have no phone line than no internet), but it's not simple at all, since we don't have enough data jackpoints in the house and that involves getting a cabling company plasterer and painter in.
Is someone able to confirm for certain the correct way to do this migration so minimize the Internet Outage and have a PSTN line and VDSL2?
Thanks very much.
