Apparently Chorus stuffed up the latest data update for the maps, the Dunedin dates after 2017 are incorrect. My deployment date has gone from July 2018-June 2019, to July 2016-June 2017, then to before June 2017 and is now back to July 2018-June 2019. Someone else in my suburb noticed this and wrote to the editor of the Otago Daily Times and the Chorus media manager response last Friday was "We have had an issue with our online mapping tool which inadvertently pulled in some old build data. We're working on resolving the issue and hope to have the map updated as soon as possible". I'm not sure if this is the same for other deployment areas.

I'm now showing as "by March 2017" which is a change from the previous "July 2016-June 2017" estimate. I'm not too desperate, with VDSL currently sitting at around 40/8. My parents are just around the corner from me and they have changed to "by December 2016" which is great because they can only get ADSL and their line is terrible.

Chorus have a monpoly in their UFB regions except Wellington - you have a choice between UFB and DSL both of which Chorus provide.  Why should they act in a timely fashion.

UFF are nearly done.  Northpower is done, and wanting to do more areas than the initial plan.

Their only obligation is to complete by 2019 - and so they may as well pace themselves, and upskill less workers so that they can complete jobs quicker.

You all might want to check the map again, my rollout date has changed from "before Jun 2017" to "by Nov 2016" in the past couple of days.

Interesting. Where I enter my address above the map it says "UFB fibre up to 200 Mbps by Oct-2016" but the map with various shades of blue indicates I'm in an area "Planned by Jun-17". So somewhere between 7 and 16 months to go. Fingers crossed for the earlier date...

Still UFB fibre up to 200 Mbps between Jul-2019 and Dec-2019. Meanwhile the houses 150m away have had it for a year.

I feel your pain. We live on a peninsula, where the top left and bottom right corners have it, but we don't. Guess the line has to be drawn somewhere, even though at times it looks like it may have been drawn by a pre-schooler. :-)

Yes, my parents are on ADSL, can't get VDSL, yet there is fibre to within 7 driveways of their house and has been for a couple of years. At least they finally get sorted in about 10 months. I have another year to wait but at least my VDSL is a decent speed (fingers crossed it stays that way in the interim).

Not sure I trust the map anyway. I just got a phone call today to say our UFB install is going to go ahead tomorrow. But the map still shows > 2017.

Im going to do a post tomorrow with all the details on how we ended up getting it. As our ISP at the start of it did not even know we could get it.

Still says ADSL/VDSL upto 20mb/s for me, with the whole of Pokeno's distribution link down my fence line... How do I splice in a spare fibre anyone?

Anyone?

Lol!

Yeah, the porky German in Coatsville paid about a hundred grand to have fibre run to that mansion he was in.

Still saying May 2016 for us here but Chorus have just finished installing in the street and we've started getting advertising from various ISP's looking to hook us up. Just waiting for BigPipe to offer UFB in Palmerston North (I'm told it's being worked on) and I'll be on board.
