Yippee ki yay
Had the letter in the mail from Chorus saying they were going to start the upgrade to fibre shortly so hopefully it wont be long
^^^
Ironically, you're best to rely on snail mail in your letter box to confirm when fibre is really/truly/actually gonna get to your place. ![]()
The map says "by Feb-2016", but we haven't had the mail drop, and only Compass' site says it's available now. ![]()
Kraven: Just waiting for BigPipe to offer UFB in Palmerston North (I'm told it's being worked on) and I'll be on board.
I thought they already did. ![]()

Heh, I only emailed them a few days ago and they said "we're working on it as we speak". Will hassle them again, thanks for the link!
I think there's been another update to the map data in the past few days, my rollout date has come forward 2 months.
What has happened to the map? I went to the normal link, and now get a page that says "check your broadband". When I put my address in it shows a map of my area overlaid with a speed meter diagram that tells me I'm getting ADSL at 6Mbps (wrong, I'm on VDSL at 40Mbps) and to click the button to find out when upgrades are due in my street... so I click the Network Map button indicated, and it takes me right back to the same page. I can't see the upgrade details at all. Weird. I went to ufb.org.nz and their tool still has me at March 2017, and my poor parents who are stuck on 4Mbps ADSL are due by Christmas. Can't come soon enough!

The old map's available in the Business section - https://www.chorus.co.nz/broadband-options/for-business/broadband-map
"UFB fibre up to 200 Mbps between Jul-2019 and Dec-2019"
Woo Hoo, I've been moved from Jul-2019 to Jun-2020 to between July and December. To avoid the appearance of favouring Auckland, Auckland was deliberately left to lower priority.
And, being right on the edge of VDSL, Chorus refuses to install it because it might not give a sufficient speed improvement for their marketing purposes. They changed the profiles that would extend the range, but aren't changing the maps because VDSL is lower on the priority list than fibre. Feel free to correct these opinions, but they were given to me as fact by Chorus.
4 more years to get fibre.

Yep, the dates tend to shift around: sometimes closer, sometimes not.
mine is 6 months closer :) still over 2 years away though
June 2019, last house on the VDSL map and Chorus won't install it, fun.

Oh, thanks for directing me to the right map! Thought I was losing my few remaining marbles for a second :) No change in dates for me, but less than a year to go. My parents are more desperate than I am. Maybe I should start talking to my neighbours about shared driveway consent now?

I imagine you're right, but I guess if I get them on board before it becomes available it might expedite the process somewhat. The other week I gave them some of my son's toys that he'd grown out of, so I should have some good neighbourly karma happening.
