How many people are considering downgrading to a lower speed plan now they have been upgraded from 50 to 100?. Quite a cost saving considering  both Spark and Skinny have just increased their prices despite no wholesale price increase

Yeah, I just moved to One - can’t really complain with $65/month. I would have thought Skinny brought back their entry fibre plan with the speed increase.

It's tempting. I live alone, am rarely home, and only have three devices connected to the internet (Apple TV, iPhone and Macbook Pro). I just wonder whether the 20mbps upstream might be a noticeable impediment when syncing to iCloud.

We use Skinny and are currently looking to downgrade from the 500/100 Mbps plan to 100/20 Mbps. Skinny don't offer this plan, so we might need to change provider despite being pretty happy with them, and receiving the bundle discount.

This is the first price increase we've had with them since around August 2024, and wholesale rates from the LFC's have raised since then.

Spark's 100/20 plan will be $91/month come 1 August - there are way better other options out there.

Skys deal is pretty good. I am currently on Slingshots $65 deal for normal 300 speed but my contract is nearly up for that price and their normal price is a lot more.

If in doubt about the 100/20 option, don't worry as you can switch up if you need to.

I was happy with 50/10 so even happier with 100/20!

Sometime in the last few days my 300/100 went up to about 450 (One, Porirua).

However, it's just tested at 300 again. It may be my internal networking, I need to plug directly into the ISP router and re-test.

I’m definitely looking to downgrade from Skinny fiber broadband considering we only use internet for browsing and Netflix. Don’t even mention the big Netflix increase just last month! Have to save where we can!

My Skinny was all over the place (also in Porirua) before it finally hit the 500. Speedtest would get up to 400ish then taper back to a final speed of around 350.

With Skinny hiking the price further this week to $90, I've pulled the plug and gone to One.nz. 100/20 is more than fast enough and $300 one wallet $ will help in the future for phone upgrade for me or my wife.

Was this tested using Ethernet or Wifi?
