FWIW that ^ uses up to 20% of a HAP AX^2, and I get the same speed over its wifi on a 1021/1081Mbps link.

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

Generally speaking(technically) under load you're gonna have overhead. I guess ISP's account for this with soft overage, which is nice of them

Pretty sure they were forced to do this a few years back when they were advertising 100/20 and people were only getting around 90/18 or so...

My Skinny was all over the place (also in Porirua) before it finally hit the 500. Speedtest would get up to 400ish then taper back to a final speed of around 350.

Was this tested using Ethernet or Wifi?

I've received a swap over date from Onenz, in the email from the sales dept, they state that I need to contact the losing ISP to cancel my service, when should I do this? Its scheduled for next Friday. Would rather have 2 connections (if thats even possible) for a few days than 0 connections for 5 minutes.....

(from Skinny to OneNZ - Enable network)

Oh sorry, I meant it was all over the place during single speedtest runs going from 300 and creeping up to 400ish, then back to around 350 etc etc. It was like this for a few days until one day the test ran straight to 500+ and stayed there. And it's been great ever since. Was like some sort of transition period.

Ok, roger.  Good to hear that it stabilised once the transition to the new speeds was complete.

since you have already received confirmation from One, it should now be fine to contact Skinny.

Yes, it is possible to have two connections active at once, they will be on different ethernet ports on the ONT. You should confirm with OneNZ whether you are getting a second port activation. When is your billing date with Skinny? You pay a month at a time and don't get refunded for a part month, so when you talk to Skinny you should aim to be disconnected just before the end of the billing month. And ideally time the new connection so it is a few days before that if you want some overlap.

Yeah, this is my first new fibre connection, where I still have my existing connection, and the GSP/Chorus have just automatically provisioned the connection on the second port - in the past I've had to beg them to action this. Nice that it's now considered standard.
