Err ... Iver phone isn't displaying it properly or your missing I sizable chunk of the 17a.

I'll have to check it closer when I get home.

Non vdsl splitter maybe?

Nice 17a none the less and a 8db tweak ain't bad

I don't think that is 17a, despite what it says. The sync rate is too low, the attenuation is too low, and the spectrum is only showing 8 MHz of bandwidth, not 17. A 17a spectrum should look something like this:

Edit: it's pretty good for an 8b connection though.

thought so.. ild check with snap if your on 17a or not, theres bound to be an issue somewhere alone the lines i assume youv given your friz a kick in the pants?

for short lines, it seems the 51 firmware is no good. doesnt look like you have that though.

yeah got 05.22. Just rebooted and no change. Contact snap and check on the reading vs the spectrum?

Quick question: Did you guys reconfigure your whole fritz box when you downgraded? I was researching and had a look on the friz website and saw this.

A downgrade will restore the factory settings so that all individual settings will be lost and the FRITZ!Box will have to be reconfigured. It is not possible to restore settings saved with a higher versions of the firmware because newer versions of the firmware contain additional functions not available in older versions. However, if you saved your settings before updating the firmware, you can restore these.

What if your fritz shipped with stock .51 firmware? :/

My Fritz shipped with the latest firmware and I have just downgraded to the old firmware 05.05 and yes you have to reconfigure it but that isn't a major.

I downgraded purely for the reason of tweaking as it seemed a lot easier than this "telent" method.
I have Mac's with OSX and downloaded an app called TextWrangler (free from Mac App Store) to modify the text setting files and it works a charm.
I tried using the methods of modifying the text file on the new firmware to no avail.
Also I have a naked connection with no VOIP phones connected to the Fritz, so wasn't sure weather it was possible to enable telnet any other way than via a phone handset dialling #9... (however it goes)
With the older firmware my attenuation reads 8 instead of 9 on the latest firmware, as someone mentioned earlier that the older firmware was better for shorter lines - (mine is quite short)
Maybe someone with a knowledge of both methods can shed some light as to which method is easier/better, but in essence both methods have exactly the same end result and I found that modifying the text file to be basic.
My SNR is tweaked to 5 but the Fritz sets it anywhere between 0-5dB and I gained 10Mbps in sync speed to 47Mbps on DLM1 with 0.4 CRC errors per minute!

I haven't configured anything... just let the Fritz run, 4 weeks in.. that's what I get

Quite happy with the speed,

Think this is OK but for about 350-400M away from exchange could be better

But all aside, what are you gonna do with anything above 50Mbps ? International traffic won't be anywhere close to that, for anything local 50Mbps is more then plenty. So can't see why go through all the trouble tweaking and re-configuring Fritz just to gain 5-15% increase in speed unless you're syncing at below 30-33 Mbps

DLM-1 doesnt look impossible for that line, graphs look pretty nice.

your SNR is sitting at 10, rather than 12? and you say you havent tweaked it? that seems a little odd.

the one little spike of RFI doesnt look to have affected your line what was your error rate like on DLM-2? (i assume it made it to that at some point)

No I haven't tweaked anything. It just did it's auto re-sync the other day and went from SNR 12 to 10, sync rate went up from 43 to 47. I had 0 CRC errors and minimum FEC on previous sync which was 43Mbps, 12 SNR, INP 1. now FEC is much higher, CRC is still OK

Latency was 8 before last sync as well
