so, sitting at 4~5 CRCPM currently, so things seem to have settled to a point.

unfortunately, there was a few resyncs today, gfs family was over and decided to take a brute approach as to ripping cables out since i couldnt tell them the wifi password while i was on the train home - not quite what i wanted to find out after sitting in town waiting for the train to actually come... that auckland public transport lol.

a higher up snap crs replied to my support ticket too this afternoon, so a few options are in the brewing... gotta check up on things first though incase theres any NDA on it before i share however..

I made a dirty, dirty hack for Hio77's FritzboxLog utility to copy the latest log file to a new file called 'latest.txt' so that I could query a consistently named file for my Samurize profile. So I thought I'd share it in case anyone else had this requirement.

It bases the 'latest' file on the archive bit, so the prerequisite is that all existing log files must have the archive bit removed before this script is run. You'll also need to modify the paths to match your setup.

I know Hio77 is working on putting this in the code in future, but I'm impatient & need a workaround now :)

heh, should really get that next version out ;)

so woke up today to find this...

not surprised really.. guests tugging cables out, modem crashing a few times, probably had 10~12 resyncs yesterday unavoidable :/

looks like my FEC error rates have shot up even higher than before!

well, just got off the phone with snap, chorus responded to a fault as no problem, lines working as it should...

there is a new line test going for the SNR jumping around, and that will be pushed tomorrow but basicly had snap turn around say, most chorus techs are untrained in vdsl and you will have to wear alot of no fault found fees to get the right tech to sort it..

its very easy to say a line should move back DLM profiles if its not stable, or be a casual tech come out, see sync speeds are good and leave, "no fault found". but to get any action actually taken, i seem to be pushing sh!t up hill!

who was it that had the high FECs that were killing their line? thinking i might be able to use some of their experience to put another fire under chorus...

Yeah my mate is a transfield tech and just finished certifying in VDSL, says lots of others aren't and don't know what to look for.

Also since port reset line has been Crazy stable on dlm1, just really low sync

yep, the whole time through my drop outs and all, it was like my connection is dropping out due to CRC errors... OK, plug in their modem well sync rates look good your fine.

infuriating when they cant admit they dont understand what they are being asked to do..

unfortunately, im dealing with visionstream.. they are proving frustrating to get anything sorted..

once the line tests have been done ill be trying to accelerate it through visionstream directly to a proper vdsl guy again...

The low sync speed is probably due to your high attenuation. Looks like you have a lot of headroom for tweaking tho. Once your 10 day validation period is over you could try some SNRM tweaks.

Think that could be the highest crcpm rate I have seen on 17a.

Your spectrum is quite unique looking to most 17as, that could.just be the firmware.for.themostpart.

I would ask how long it took your 17a to hit for you, but Im pretty sure you.already covered that.

Really nice looking line,(errors.aside) really doesn't look far off of underusing its spectrum to hit the solid 70.

Mines been on 2 CRC/min as well lately. Though I do have the SNRM target set to 8db. My spectrum fairly similar, though I don't have any upload in the lowest band and I'm using about half the second band.

hes running at 13db SNR though, ild expect yours to be a little high with your dropped SNR...

so, more news on my line..

chorus have agreed the error rates look a little high, but as the errored seconds arent, they will not be pushing to look at it anymore.

also pushed to have the SNR bouncing around looked at, after a snap CSR agreed that was a bit off too, but wasnt looked at.

chorus have once again, stated its within spec, and apparently reset my DLM - i highly question this, as the only resync i have had was the DLM move from DLM-1 to DLM-2 and the resync i did this afternoon

is it possible chorus can reset the DLM testing period, without dropping your connection? i was always on the understanding they would need to take the port offline for a little to achieve it.

i guess, wait till the 1st, and if things still arent looking like DLM has been reset, ill push to question if it was actually done - no date or times were noted as to when the reset was done.

at this point, i give up, once i get my DLM-1 back no more tinkering (aside from maybe pulling the SNR up a little to drop rates) or dealing with techs. end of the day, my lines a pretty good candidate for 17a unless we are missing another condition, hopefully it hops over soon..

ild highly suggest not playing with that fire! never know when DLM is gonna shut its trap for months on end ;)
