At least for mine it's:
"sar:status/USBandConfig": "87,147,204,347,406,511"

I'm not sure if there is any way to tell what the highest used bucket is on 8b other than to look at the bit loadings.

that right there is exactly what i needed..

87-147 204-347 and 406-511

VDSL has the following features: Dynamic Line Management (DLM) DLM is an inherent feature of the VDSL product. DLM is proactively used by Chorus on every Chorus VDSL port to improve individual line performance by optimising the line for speed and stability.

DLM enables an iterative process that monitors and optimises the VDSL port and associated line over the lifetime of the connection as follows:

DLM collects performance data from all VDSL ports on a daily basis.
DLM analyses the performance data and determines whether the active VDSL line profile is optimal or not. If not, a new line profile is chosen based on the collected data and activated for that particular End User’s connection.
DLM is a self learning technology: it is not a one off implementation; it continues to adapt and improveas the conditions of the line change (such as noise, house wiring changes or copper plant enhancements).

Note: When the Chorus VDSL connection is provisioned, the interleaving setting for VDSL will be automatically allocated and then optimised by DLM. Interleaving settings cannot be changed outside of the DLM process.

Spectrum Profiles

The spectrum profiles to be used for VDSL2 are based on use of the ITU-T G.993.2 997E8b and 997E17a VDSL2 profiles.

The VDSL2 997E8b spectrum profile forms the default profile for all VDSL customers.

The 997E17a spectrum profile will only be used for End Users on short loops (an attenuation level corresponding to about 200m or less) and will be activated by Chorus only where this will optimise the end user experience.

Note that DLM will optimise the line based on the selected spectrum profile

Unfortunately it's short on details. It's also not clear if the 17a policy is the original policy they had when it was being manually applied or the policy they have now.

my understand is that the 17a profile hasn't changed, however what as change is the as and way the calculation that works where your better to be on 17a or 8b has and in my view this a in improvement.

I wasn't really talking about the 17a profile changing. I was talking about the procedure for getting onto 17a. Prior to about Oct 2011 ISPs could request lines to be manually set to 17a (see this thread: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=90&topicid=92132). Then for a long time it was impossible to get onto 17a. Around Feb 2013 people started getting moved onto 17a automatically (or at least without requesting it). So clearly Chorus' policy/procedure for getting onto 17a changed.

The 17a profile itself has also changed. Take a look at the spectrum in this post: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=90&topicid=106204&page_no=1#659274 and compare it to my spectrum in the first post of this thread. Napster's spectrum is from the time when Telecom/Chorus were putting people on 17a by request. My spectrum is from when apparently automatic changes to 17a started.

this sounds about right, upon a reread.. only DLM can control interleavings.

this seems slightly outta date.. or doesnt alight too well with the figures the fritz calculates..

VDSL Estimated Loop Length : 772 ft ~ which is about 236M

with an attenuation of 4~5, would line up 17a being for anyone with about a 4db or less attenuation, except in whats been seen here, its more like 7 and under..

who knows, fritz's calculations could be a tad wrong..

chorus's published documentation just doesnt seem to line up with anything that we have seen here..

gotta finish a spot of tiding up, but fell asleep before, so ill finish off the rest tomorrow, new version of the tool will be out.

dropped multiple exes for different functions, to more to launch switches, right now, config and switches dont coalign with each other, still deciding which will take precedence if both are flaged differently.

graphing isnt in it currently, but will be soon. need to tinker a little more, as by default, usecases of lines vs column (histogram) are a bit misaligned, which makes reading the useful data a little hard..

now you can drop that horrid bash script sam!

- Added detection of Managed updates being enabled (automatic updates)
- Added detection of Fritz's time being out of date (will be a big part of the graphing at a later date)
- Added Console detection and grabbing (When called from a command line, it wont open a new CLI interface..)

Ok, runs well for me. A couple of questions:

- You mentioned before about dropping my manky log file rename script - is this possible in this version? If so, how?
- If there is no telnet access to the router, does it restrict what info you can get out of it?

nope, currently it doesnt restrict outputs at all, at a later date it may.

OK, so I know the SNR fluctuates somewhat, but is a consistent SNR of 9 normal for a fritz with no tweaking? If not what does it indicate, if anything?

Hi all,
I'm very curious. I believe I'm on DLM-1 atm. It's been just over 3 days and I don't know what to make of the errors in the line. From what I can there has been quite a few CRC errors. I'm unsure whether this many would cause a profile drop down to DLM-2. If anyone could advise it would be much appreciated.
