Huh. I don't remember that page! Cool! :)

Hey do you know a way to create a URL which goes directly to a specific page? I see that the 'http://fritz.box/system/ecostat.lua' url you posted does this, but I want to get to the connection stats pages in the same way, and when I try it just dumps me at the main page.

AFAIK, that page is dynamic to a point, and rather hard to reference to as a link.. it can work, but only if the sid is already calculated, or it will simply redirect you back to the start after logging in..

Yeah, that's the problem I've observed. For some reason the last URL you posted put me directly on the page referenced however!

its a direct lua page, that doesnt require "error pages".. seems to be the difference..

unfortunately, like many other things in the fritz, it can be rather inconsistent.

Finally migrated to snap, Chorus did a complete check of wiring and even put a new one in just in case.  Sync is roughly the same as previously
One thing I don't get is my ping - usually 4ms but I am alot further away from the cabinet than I thought.

I'm not complaining but find it odd

Huh. It say's you're on the 17a profile, which is obviously not true. We've seen this before in other cases. Can't remember what the outcome of those was in the end.

However, despite Chorus's best efforts, unfortunately your spectrum graph is looking a little sad and your errors are rather high.

your line still makes no sense at all..

the 17a profile is sent as a bit value clearly thats wrong.

the fact that you now have a 0ms latency value is just... odd..

have you tried another device? on the off chance your firtz is simply missreading?

events here are cooling off, people are crawling off to their beds, wonder how my line is gonna play as things go back down.. averaging about 51 FECs per min right now, very respectable rate considering the 1~2K per min its been popping the last few weeks..

if i can hold this for a week, maybe a few days.. ill request my DLM is reset, see if i cant settle nicely into something..

I am baffled and those errors are a bit concerning.

As I was previously VDSL - chorus came out with job info being an adsl upgrade - they said they where going to change my port as it was common practice but somebody at chorus said they don't do that for VDSL.  Later to find that I still couldn't authenticate to snap.  I rang the tech hours later and they escalated from their end to find out that chorus had in the end allocated another port - but the tech said he aint coming all the way back and they just did a change over to snap on the port.  So I simply plugged in the fritz and away I went (in between when the tech left I was able to use my existing provider - so it isn't as if there wasn't a device at my end off for hours)

The old hardware was an innbox which doesn't give much info like the fritz - but I know I would ping say orcon's name server and it was always 9-11ms

Now with the fritz it is 4-5ms

As someone mentioned before, Broadcom kit as not often seen ... but im happy with everything

in perfect world, one would hope for no errors at all..

dont know what to offer you with the innbox, its had quite a bucket of issues from what i have seen.. but ild question congestion and physical distance..

chorus, i suspect visionstream, would be your areas monkeys by the sounds of their work in your area, they often need a few cattleprods to get the job done correctly..

as for my line, last theory im working with, is i didnt have my gbit switch directly attached over the last day or so, that outputs a bit of a high pitched hum, and the idea of that going through the cable and affecting things struck me while i was putting it back. (sound plausible? or shall i stick with my little visionstream friend didnt do something right and i accidentally fixed it?)

so far, so good however..

@Hio77: That SNR is WHACK man!!

Switch theory sounds plausible tho, I'd leave it out for a week, see what the difference is and then plug it in again and observe again.

so now that im checking things out, switch was back inplace all night, error rate has climbed a little. removing it now, to see if a result comes out..

still averaging a low SNR though..

definitely may have found my cause of my issues... after 7th min, i removed the switch, heres the outcome.

so, new one to put in the books, switch on its fritz, could equal issues on the inside of the network, affecting the dsl link.

seems the interference from the switch picks up over time or something, as we still arent getting to the 1K~2K that were popping before.. and the snr was still stable.

now to tell the gf we need a new switch.. this one can stay as a backup, never to be plugged directly to the fritz again.

now i have to question... was this the cause of errors at the old place too..

How close was that switch to the Fritz? It'd be interesting to know if the interference was due to proximity or due to the cable between them. Also, I imagine they were plugged into the same mains circuit and that's certainly a possible route for interference.
