hio77: howd that resync affect your dsl sync? much changes there at all?

is the time correct on the firtz? thats outside of the usal resync time..

resync upped the speed by 0.3 mbiits.  time on the fritz is correct.

Not a clue!

Could it be a pre 17a test?

Strange the way it oscillates. It'll be interesting to see if others see the same.

I think a rolling 5 minute average might be better for graphing.

heres the same data (or well slightly longer, since the logging had gone for more..)

the oscillation is still showing up..

currently collecting data physically every 5 mins (which gets to be borderline with the fritz and sid keys also), only an hour in, but enough to see the same pattern again..

I just got my Fitz 7390. Is the firmware rollback still recommended?

When I tried the router wouldn't let me saying the firmware update failed, that the firmware is an older version and I could either restart and continue with the newer version I already had or choose another image and try again.

I had just gone system, firmware update, firmware file, save settings, chose the firmware image on my PC.

How did you downgrade?

so, DLM is definitely reset, got a resync last night..

expecting the errors will clock back up as the speed increases again, slowest sync i have ever had here.

and heres DLM-1 (clearly with some room for the speed profile to increase.)

@jay, need to know

-what your current firmware is
-what your trying to downgrade

you seem to be following the steps for the most part, correct. sounds like a corrupt file, wrong version or some sort of unusual issue...

Wow! That's a pretty dramatic change, especially to your SNRM!! What's with that!? Does DLM change something to affect SNRM as well!?

Well, I just swapped out the Fritz!box 7390 for a newer modem from NetComm

Officially name the NF4V, it can do ADSL/VDSL/Fibre, dedicated Gigabit Wan port, 4x gigabit ethernet ports, Dualband wireless 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and USB 3.0 ports and VoIP.

So with this swap I noted down I was getting between 46-47 maybe even 48mb/s sync on my line. As soon as I dropped this Netcomm in the sync speed rose upto 51.4mb/s and 51.6mb/s down.

not uncommon for slightly different sync rates between devices ...

netcomm, i suspect this is the new modem slingshot is rolling for vdsl?

is that a 17a profile? at your attenuation, seems a pretty decent sync rate

SamF: Which firmware file are you using & where exactly did you get it from?

I got it from service.avm.de/downloads. The image is FRITZ.Box_Fon_WLAN_7390.en-de-es-it-fr.84.05.22.image
I also grabbed the latest firmware image from avm in case I needed to restore it manually and backed up my settings.

Also chorus just installed my new jack point. Is it normal for the line attenuation to jump so much going from ADSL to VDSL? Freaks me out a bit!

Before and after:

attenuation receive 8 send 6
Receive 13 send 102

Note: chorus' test put me at line attenuation 5 to 6 when I asked snap to check before I switched to VDSL to see if I could get it at all.

My VoIP phone isn't registered yet, no idea if that's causing some issue because I'm also getting errors under the same DSL tab on the router as the line attenuation details.

Errors (ES) many
Errors (SES) per
minute Last
15 minutes per
minute Last
15 minutes
FRITZ!Box 89 0 26 662 0.95 31
DSL Telephone Switch 0 0 0 0 0 0

Speeds seem ok though, I got 38 Mbps down on my iPad over wifi on a speed test. The router says attainable throughput 41380 kbits/sec receive max dslam 7000.

I'd like to get the best speed and fewest errors I can just because I like things to run efficiently.
