Lost my 0 line attenuation but I wouldn't call that the end of the world as again from my past experience it comes and goes.

attenuation would be like 0.5..

I think a DLM reset puts it back in training mode so it should change in a few days.

this was the case for me. it depends though on what snap CSR you get.

some of them do a port reset, which forces DLM to reset, while others request chorus to do it.

for me, chorus did it, and i suspect it fully reset considering the huge speed drop out of nowhere.

Dairusire: Well, this is interesting.... You guys remember how I posted a while ago with that new Netcomm router... Seemed to have been having quite a few errors and that jazz, well good news I guess, had actually a resync about 2 days ago, have gone onto DLM1 and no have zilch errors (absolutely none for CRC (RS uncorrectable) 0.o) and still sync'ed up at nutty speeds :D

interesting move by DLM.. mysteries each day DLM hands out..

you do still have pretty high errored seconds. and a few SESs which is really not the best.

Hi all

Just got connected to Snap on Monday 25th Nov so am keen to squeeze out whatever is possible.
Have read through the entire thread (wow, there should be a badge for doing that)
House is cat5 wired, master filter installed (although not how I preferred) and am approx 550m to cabinet by road.
Originally using a Draytek 130 but now using Fritz for Snap Plus.
Wondering if someone could take a look and offer any advice for improvement.

error rates dont look bad, but your on a odd profile...

for your attenuation, i would expect atlest 30M atlest....

first order of business should probably be to downgrade that firmware.

your spectrum seems to taper really fast.. at your distance, it shouldnt go down that fast, could be quality of copper in your area though..

if the 8ms latency is fine for you, then theres certainly room to SNR tweak.

@Lally: Mate, if there was a badge for that you'd certainly have earned it! Good work!

As for your line, your spectrum is looking pretty sick (in a bad way). Tomorrow (when your 10 day line evaluation period is up), I'd contact Snap and send them your stats. Something's not right there!

Appreciate the quick replies guys, something else I noticed was the Carrier Record, on the first page of this thread its mentioned that typically everyone has A43, whats the difference between A and V?
Using the 7360 Hio, it's mentioned to use the .22 version which I can not find on the AVM ftp sites.

I asked the Chorus tech to run cable to the jack point I installed in the room I wanted, he told me he couldn't do and to ask an electrician to do this for whatever reason.
So he ended up wiring the filter to the original jack point I was using.
The phone lines were star wired so not sure what he did to accomplish.

Hmm, sounds less than ideal to me! Based on that it might actually pay to work out what's actually wired where and go from there. Are you running a naked line?

the line between the original jack and your ETP, is that cat5? does the star now start AT the filter?

sounds almost like the filter is simply "inline" rather than splitting.

cant say i have done much into the Carrier Record, thought it was pretty constant. what sort of DSLAM are you on? (it says on the overview tab)

Sam, had a pots line still up until yesterday.

As far as I am aware, filter installed at ETP, I do remember him doing something at one other jackpoint in the kitchen and then having to go up and do something where all the lines met in the ceiling space. Im worried now it was a cowboy job to get it done quickly and then move on. I had asked Snap for clarification on what he was suppose to do and what they were billed for but am yet to hear something back.
