The ONT will support 1Gb. This will be something else on your setup. Mine was my network cable - I was only getting 100/100.
defragger:
You can see this on the ONT too visually:
LAN Port LED
Orange - There is a 1Gbps device detected on the Port
Orange Flashing - There is 1Gbps data activity detected on the Port
Green - There is a 10/100Mbps device detected on the Port
Green Flashing - There is 10/100Mbps data activity detected on the Port
I have a Chorus Model Type 300 - it would appear that LAN light does not have any colour but green.
So how do I know if I am getting 300/100 at the ONT?
The LAN port on your ONT is just your device connected. I would check the cabling if it's not orange.
If you have a laptop then you could try this and then do a speedtest.net to verify if the 300/100 is allowed.
I'm getting over 300 down but nothing higher than 70 up (usually 60). I'm not complaining - 50-70 is a good range, just a bit surprised how it was 100/100 beforehand.
I checked my network cable and it's a CAT6. Tried another one to make sure, same result.
Very weird - but 300 down and (at least) 50 up is still better than 100/20 :)
I live in Northland and haven't noticed any change to my broadband speed. Still around 100 mbps download and 19mbps upload.
I then noted that in this article, dated 1st December, it mentions that the upgrade was not available in Northland but doesn't explain why or when it would be available:
The article: Hundreds of thousands of homes should see broadband speeds triple | Stuff.co.nz
Key sentence:

Does anyone know why Northland has been forgotten?
Linux: @rogercruse Are you on the North Power Fibre network? If yes then January I have mentioned this in the thread
Edit: I contacted North Power directly a few weeks back and ask them
@Linux: Thanks for the update. And yes, the last mile was installed by NorthPower.
As this thread is over 18 pages long, it took some time to find where you mentioned Northland.
repeated here from around page 12:
Linux:...Northpower have confirmed changes are coming Jan 2022 - 300/100...
I've sped read this thread, but I can't find an issue similar to mine.

I'm on a Vodafone business plan which was 100/100. I was told via the media this would increase to 500/500. But after rebooting the ONT and router, I find I get 100/500.
Will it fix itself or should I call someone? It's not a big deal really, I just find it odd.
@DravidDavid I would wait for a day or two before calling

Yeah, will wait a while. It's not a bother, just annoying how the weirdest stuff happens to my connection even when it's automatic!

Maybe you're seeing a similar issue to those of us on 2degrees. The upload upgrade was switched on, but the ISP still needs to enable the download upgrade. See this post from 2degrees:

Spark have sent me an email confirming the changes have been rolled out and applied automatically to my account so I've reset the modem, but various speed tests still show the old speeds (100 down and 20 up). Seems odd. Perhaps it takes time.
Check your network cables. I found mine was (somehow) only doing 100/100. Swapped it out and it's all working now.

Tried that already. All my wired connections are confirmed by my Fritzbox to be 1Gb. I checked the cable between that and the modem and verified it was Cat5e. I think I even tried a Cat6 cable there as well.

PM me your details and I can look into that for you.
