DLM-3 was already doing its own thing, I cant change that. I changed it to profile 4 on the profiles that are changeable and boom. Faaaaaaaast

im intrigued now.. from the documents, i thought DLM controlled it all unless it was manually overridden..

looking at his SNR, i assume profile 4 would be 17a 9db profile?

I manually overrode it?

Where I ring has numbers for profiles, not names. I don't have access to their documentation so your assumption is probably right

documentation im referring to is the somewhat outdated chorus DLM documentation that was posted here, i can dig up the links for it if you wish.

seems there has been quite a few changes to the way DLM and vdsl works/is managed over the last few months

Yeah I heard they were doing updates. Changes to DLM so it manages better AFAIK

defiantly seems to be better IMO, i mean look at how many 17a moves have been made in the last week or so!

compared to old documentation, it is confirmed that range for 17a is slightly longer.

recall about the start of last year, someone was trying to pull their weight to get profile changes like you have done and were being denied, so it would seem leway for that MAY have opened up a tad (or you have better fruits to tug on!)

all seems like good news for us to see.

will be interesting to see if many people move to the 9db SNR profiles now, i suspected i moved to it awhile back but then i had my line reset. its a bit outside of chorus's usual must be 12db training snr stance!

The line I tinkered with above is apparently a 900m line. Not sure about the cable network or how fresh it is. but it seems to get good sync speeds considering.

its defiantly a great sync for the length of his line.

i recall it being quite a poor line, with lots of RFI on it..

Goodness. I'd be very keen for such changes to be made to my line. It's currently syncing at 19.3/3.2mb.

Did a splitter get installed when VDSL was installed?

Yes, along with cat5 from the splitter to the dedicated modem jack.
Have tried removing the splitter, as well as trying the modem at the ETP. The sync speeds didn't change.

I'd probably read the tweaking guides on here. I highly doubt you will gain a lot. But optimism is key.

Well... there certainly seems to be something in the DLM water because after 65 days of unchanging stats, my connection is doing some very odd things tonight!

My (tweaked) SNRM has been at a constant 7 until today when it dropped as low as 2 and is now sitting at 3.
CRCPM has been at ~3.4 for the last 45 days at least, but now it's dropped to 0.5!?

Also, my spectrum graph is looking shinier than ever!

How is this possible!?  What's happening!? <stricken look>

I've seen something like this happen on my line once before (many, many pages ago), but nothing came of it in the end...
