zCelicaDude: Wooooo I'm pretty stoaked with my VDSL2! Finally on 17A

I moved my router behind the fridge, as my demarc point is right there.. So now the Router has a 20cm patch lead to the cable coming in off the street.. about 9 days later I finally went from 48mb to 62!!

Congrats!

Do you have a screenshot of your pre-17a stats?  I'm interested in what your line attenuation was on 8b.

hio77: very nice, i cant say ild like my modem near a fridge though, sounds like bad interference waiting to happen..

Really? I have my fritzbox on top of my  fridge because there's only 1 jack in this house.

hio77: for an 8b line at 9db, yours is an awesome sync though sam!

Heh, thanks :)  Yeah, pretty happy with it overall! :D

Now, if someone would hurry up and finish the next version of FritzLog, I might be able to see how long my line is and whether I'm ever going to be a contender for 17a! ;)

on this note, thought it was time for an update!

progress is being made, been met with two very painful issues..

firstly, the firtzbox telnetd isnt very multi connection friendly.. output from commands iver go to the wrong session or doesnt come out at all for some odd issue. (mainly seems to be within the BME API interface)

secondly, the BME API can be a little buggy, resulting in less than ideal lock ups in the menu (only fixable with full device reboots - not what one wants to do with vdsl!)

but on the upside, i have a scripted engine thats working 90% of the time, and is not reliant on window's telnet client since availability is hit and miss.

i also have a TST10 script that can simply be used to pluck the whole telnet transcript although its not very "clean" at all without post processing completed..

Well sam, not sure im totally happy with it yet!

but hey, lets see if someone can break it before i get up tomorrow..
http://hio77.com/fritzlog/download/1.3.1.0/fritzboxlog.zip
Telnet functions is Via an external Freeware binary, until i can get my own system working to perfection.

ill be adding a flag to control if telnet is even queried in a later version, as i didnt even think of it till writing this.. and one bug fix in a single post is enough!

one issue with Telnet, if there are multiple sessions open, it causes havoc. avoid multiples where possible.

15 seconds is currently given before forcefully closing the Telnet Process to allow for any slow processing, i will likely be taking this right down.

if you want the raw transcripts of the Telnet Communication, add

<TelnetDebug>false</TelnetDebug>

after logToTextFile in conf.xml. transcripts are timestamped.

Thanks Hio! So what are the chances of a lockup of the fritz with this version?

Fritzbox Log - 1.3.1.0
-----------------------
- Check if Telnet is Responsive Before Querying telnet.

Fritzbox Log - 1.3.0.0
-----------------------
- Background work for saving logging.
- Background work for Graphing.
- Almost Flawless Telnet Communication - May bug out if multiple Telnet Sessions are open. (Via TST10)
- Tweaked Conversions for a few fields
- Few Errors Caught and dealt with.

prettymuch all telnet implantations, background work for next things to implement are there, however disabled in release.

nobodys broken it as of yet it would seem! woo!

got your line distance now sam?

Hmm, need to enable telnet.  Is there a way to do this without mucking around with phone handsets etc?

pretty sure when i downgraded my fritz it came pre-activated..

only way to activate it i have found, is the normal dial  #96*7*

pretty sure you dont need an active phoneline to do it.

another way you could try, fire up the mobile phone app and do it via that

Well, my line is still doing weird stuff:

Errors are still down overall tho, and they strangely drop dramatically at times for no obvious reason!
