This is such an interesting topic for me, I am really enjoying the closed mindedness of some people.
So devil's advocate... Some kiddie pr0n (I love how it's always kiddie pr0n, people have interesting takes on what's really "dangerous" on the Internet) gets linked to my IP, I didn't download it, I didn't view it, I didn't have access to it...
Cops, DIA, FBI, RIAA or whoever contacts me (either directly or through my ISP), legal action ensues, cops want evidence, to PROVE that a crime has been committed. Evidence points to my IP, cops get a warrant (don't actually need one happy to help in this situation), forensically analyse my computer(s), and cannot find any evidence of a crime... hmm... I must have done something wrong as my IP has been identified, just like those naughty bitsomethingers... Cops build a case on the evidence they have... I am prosecuted... I go to jail for years...
Problem solved.... DO NOT EVER RUN A TOR NODE!
Thanks Geekzone, it's been a fun ride.
If I wasn't so ignorant maybe I wouldn't be laughing so hard snot is coming out my nose.
You should just run the TOR exit node n see what happen. If you ever got into trouble, as fellow geekzoners will collect some money for your legal counsel.
Freitasm will be more than happy to dedicate a corner for you here (blogging ypur experience)
