No UFB for me until a while (no date) altho meanwhile 2 streets away they get UFB by Nov 2013... Dam IT!
Saw the chorus guys lay down the fiber cable or something like that (I did ask them and they did say it was fiber) down the ducting outside my house about 1-2 months ago. Guess no fiber for my house yet, they must have been laying down that fiber for the other streets.

Well VDSL for the time being.

>20 mbps is still ADSL you'd just have to be close to the cabinet but it's entirely possible. The speed ratings for the chorus maps are not by address they are standardised for the cabinet/exchange entire area and are rated at max possible speed (to my knowledge).

VDSL it would say >70mbps

Sorry, I think you're mistaken.

On Chorus maps >10 is ADSL, >20 is VDSL.

Well apparently Snap is offering fibre to my door so maybe fibre is on the street. But no I wasn't mis-reading the map. The dark brown is >20 and the dark blue indicates fibre. I'm not surprised as there is a high school just around the corner.

to still have 'no date' for UFB as there are no businesses or schools in my area of Lower Hutt. But at least the map is a lot easier to follow in my suburb. In the meantime, cable keeps me

From the Chorus map page:

"The services and speeds that you get will depend on your service provider" - except that if you're connected to an over-sold Conklin exchange, the service provider can do nothing about the appalling speeds you get in practice.

When I bailed out of adsl last year, with 7.6Mbps connection speed, I was lucky to get downloads at 250kbps! But I see now that the local school has been moved to UFB, so maybe the adsl is working again. No way of knowing now.... (Apologies if slightly off topic)
