A recent study concluded that using cellphones does NOT cause cancer.

In fact, in my business studies class where we were talking about this study, we ended up making fun of the people, who in the 90's, were saying that after talking on their cellphones, could feel a really hot patch on the side of their head. I mean, come on. How stupid can you get.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH USING WIFI.

There is a cancer paranoia in society today, it seems.

Cellphones have been blamed for causing cancer but its an interesting story.

Usually its ....evidence for something pops up, then something gets blamed for something. But in the case of cellphones it was 'oh maybe cellphones cause cancer! oh no! Lets go on about it heaps and then do some research to try & find links.'

All the while companies profit from the hysteria etc celling all sorts of copper devices that stop the radiation etc. Why not just put sunblock on your head and do more good.

If they have a laptop, will also have a cellphone... double whammy ... if they drop wifi. then ban cellphones too :-)

It seems everything causes cancer these days. If you were to avoid everything that supposedly causes cancer, you would lead a very sad life indeed.

Imagine if they banned cellphones too, someone like the Greens' would probably take it out of perspective and try to get cellphones banned for good in NZ. Wow, I'm sure everyone would love to go back several decades to when cellphones weren't commonplace with people. But of course, it doesn't matter what people want, if the Greens suggest it, then the government thinks "that must be a good idea" even when it sucks.

Can't beat the burble of that American V8. Ohh yea!

Why do things need to be banned anyway? Why can't they just say 'this is dangerous' and let people have responsibiilty for their own actions? We aren't in kindy.

Yea, everything has to be banned, you can't just make up your own mind. It's very communist and quite annoying.

Its like that proposed tax for cars entering the Auckland CBD, I don't mind driving through heavy traffic, so why can't I make up my mind as to if I want to enter the CDB or not. I shouldn't be forced to not enter the CDB by car (a tax would basically be forcing people not to enter the CBD because they couldn't afford it), I should have a choice. If you hate heavy traffic, don't force your opinion on to me, just take another route and deal with it.

In this case, they should do as you said, warn people that it MAY be dangerous but don't ban it.

Just hot of the press: wi-fi networks are harmless. A study was requested as a result of the UK concenrs and this was just debunked in the UK as a result of those tests two months ago (Health Fears Surrounding Wifi Unfounded,Wi-Fi Health Fears Are Unproven),
