illusive009: you can do it that way.  If you get a nastygram from the RIANZ/MPAA/etc, though, you as the account holder are liable (I think).  Don't think we've had a test case for "it was one of my flatmates" yet.  But I think only a handful of cases have got past the "user gets a Please Stop Doing That" notice via their ISP.

 


There have been plenty who have ended being fined, including one case where a soldier (the account holder) who was deployed in Afghanistan at the time of the downloading was fined $255.

There is no out clause - if you're the named account holder you're liable for what everybody else does.

One option could be to use power line networking which in my experience is pretty reliable - the perks of wireless without having to be wireless.
