The idea of fiber being laid in areas that may never get services is boggling, but even more so with years (a decade?) still to go before fiber is fully rolled out, why would LFC's lay cables this early in those areas?

It bothers me that there are places that have UFB available but no ISPs, and huge areas of Auckland that don't even have a date for UFB yet.

@PaulBags it's a chicken/egg thing - why would any ISPs build into the region if there isn't any fibre there...
