If you live on Hammerichs Road (which is the road the School & Cabinet are on) you can get access to Chorus' Rural Fibre service.

RBI-funded fibre runs the length of Hammerichs Rd.  See http://www.chorus.co.nz/rural-broadband-initiative/fibre-in-rural-community/fibre-to-rural-communities-1 for more detail.

ISPs are starting to develop services to run over this infrastructure, so if you do live on this road call your ISP and ask when they will have something available.

I actually live on a corner that includes Hammerichs road and Ashford Grove, so my house does front onto Hammichs.  Should I contact Telecom or Chorus to see if I can get hook up, or am I still out of luck until they upgrade the box in June 2015?  I last called Telecom about two months ago, and they couldn't tell me anything.  Just 'not yet'.

Have been in touch with Chorus, and they say they will have a date for the Cabinet upgrade by July this year, and I am out of luck until that has happened.
