If you signed the concent to install (which you must have to get an installation) then you should have read it, as it plainly says the equipement isnt yours and remains the property of Chorus. It is repeated in several sections but this snipped section of the form below is the main copy
Behodar:DarthKermit: Hehe. Do the ONTs have a transmitter within to report back to HQ should they go missing?
Apparently they're "coded" so that they won't work if moved anyway! Chorus is able to reprogram them to work at the new address, but won't (on the basis that it shouldn't have been moved in the first place).

Yes they are encoded on installation and will only work in the section of network (the same GPON port) that they are installed on (other IDs are also recordeded and used to form part of the provisioning records) - trying to hook it up on another Chorus UFB connection wont do any good at all

Plus they will dirty the optical SC connector.
DarthKermit:Lias: I wonder what the legalities are, because as I understand it most demolition contracts basically give ownership of EVERYTHING on the site to the demo companies.
Yeah, it'd be good if someone who works for Chorus would comment in this thread about what they'd do in this kind of situation.
Anyone have a rough idea of what one of them ONTs cost?

Dabble: Was the power supply there? Chorus charge heaps for them!

Common sense is not as common as you think.
DarthKermit:coffeebaron: Maybe Chorus could borrow JohnR's Black Vodafone helicopter and go collect :)

Not that I saw it. But there was a lot of junk on the counter.
How much do they charge?
They charge for a complete ont ~$249 if a PSU goes missing
