Personally I think bashing any telco/isp just for the sake of it is a wast of time. They all have there ups and downs/ bad points good points. Bash a perticuliar issue you have PERSONALLY had with them for sure. But I believe that in NZ's small market you cant honistly say telco/isp 1 is better then telco/isp 2 on everything. Each has its strenghs and weakness.

nzbnw: Sorry, but I just have to say this. I didn't know you where a mod! But congratulations anyway!

I believe it was kept quiet so nobody had any conspiracy theories about Ross living next to Mauricio having some part in his promotion...

I also have a fair amount of distain for people arguing their point, with no answers, references, or even aknowlegment of facts and history surrounding events, people do find this annoying

Pot, meet kettle.

Tell ya what, I'll ease up on Xtra, if someone can name the award they won in 2006.

*#%^& ISP? Well myself and countless other Telecom employees work hard to change peoples perceptions of Telecom, but sometimes it doesnt matter what we do, or say we are allways wrong Embarassed.

To be honest, Telecom aside, I have found Xtra to bequite good, but then perhaps I know enough towhen some CSR try's to make one run around like ahead less chicken chicken Smile.

Don't get me wrong, I respect Telecom Engineers, they are some of the best and brightest in the country, and I dare say, if given the capex spend could do some amazing things.

I also, if you didn't read it, are impressed by Telecom Mobile's offerings, and technical direction.

But as smart, technically sound and forward thinking their Mobile solutions are, there is always something Telecom seem to be doing which is on the other side of this spectrum.

OK, I ask you a question, which I'm sincerely interested in knowing, do you think because Xtra are the big boys on the block, outages on other ISP's don't get as much 'airplay'?

I remember ihug being in the news, because of their continually failing spam flooded servers, and problems with Whoosh's hardware/coverage issues.

More or less. Certain other ISPs have been lauded as heros when they have outages... though thats 'seperating the wheat from the chaff' right?

(But again, Ihug did get a bit of a beating, but strangely enough the media didn't pick up on the various other problems that other ISP's have.)

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Nope, I understand what you are saying. It will be interesting to see what Telecom's new CEO will be doing in terms of investment.

As to your question, I'm sure that Telecom being New Zealand's biggest Telco, and Company for that matter will no doubt draw attention. However what really bugs me is the lack of people who say, good on Telecom (or any Telco really), they have really helped us out here and done this, this and this, because it does happen, just we don’t hear about it, enough anyways.

Then there is the poor reporting by the New Zealand media, who can at times totally miss understand thins, and everything just blows out of proportion.

At the end of the day, Telecom employ people, and as we all know sometimes people just make mistakes.

At the risk of being stamped a troll, I can second that. I ended up taking them to small claims. :-)

You know a wireless operator selling a product to bypass the local loop is in trouble when they buy a local loop reseller to prop up their business. I imagine Steve is getting sick of pouring money into Woosh.

I do like the colour of their website thought.

My goodness. I wake up to a series of irrational posts that are completely off topic. How is this question relevant to the OP's question?

Have you noticed the OP didn't even reply? Because you guys wasted two pages discussing everything, including your personal colour preferences on a website but not the OP's original question (or barely).

Next time I see this happening it's going to be a wild distribution of bans.
