bgorgees: my friend works at woosh customer service help desk... anyway... he said they put the cap cause they wanna make money, and to force the customers to change over to another plan where the speeds are said to be better... i guess they didnt think of cusotmers leaving them hehehe...  maybe you guys should write up and complain to the commerce commission, cause i'm sure this is illegal...

I cannot see the commerce commission doing anything just because your next door neighbours, brothers sister-inlaw knows someone who said something that is probably against their NDA.

Hes just stating what he reckons people should do (complain to the commerce commission), not that people should build a case on what his friend said.

What he says, true or not, is what I have come to believe anyway...

Woosh are throtling/capping the Orbit Flatrate plan on purpose to get people off it, as its unprofitable and proberly no longer supported by Telecom wholesale, in the wake of the Go-large fiasco...

My internet now is so crap, its not funny, ive lost my sence of humor over it and my patience

I have lost all confidence in Woosh.

They have gone about this completly the wrong way, resentment and customer disatifaction will grow, and they will loose alot of customers as a result.

I hope Woosh is reading.

I'm made my decision, I'm changing ISP.

And for the record, I'm changing to Xnet...

I like the fact I can set a maximum amount of dollars at full speed so no surprise bill....slower to 64kb after I hit my quota...

15gb for $50, then slowed to 64kb.....

But what I really like, is if I dont use the data, I dont get charged.....so if I only use 5gb for the month, I will only get charged $40.

And they got a handy little realtime usage monitoring program.

woosh management told my MATE and the rest of the customer service reps, that if a distrungled customer rings about their slow "unlimited" speed, to inform them that there's a network issue or problem with that plan and suggest to switch to another woosh plan and credit them $10 or something like that...
the one mistake they did is they told the customer service reps that they're not making any money of it and they put the cap or "fault" on purpose...
now I don't see why my friend or I have to lie about such a thing... offcourse me being the big mouth I decided to tell people about it...
the comcom is a very good agency, all they need is one person to complain and they'll investigate it, because that's what they're there for...

Reading the forums, sounds like at least 2 or 3 people have made complaints to the CC...

I was going to, but as I'm at the end of my contract, I just cant be bothered, not worth the time, hassle and frustration.

I'm making my statement by leaving and  signng up with Xnet

Another great feature of Xnet is no contract!
No disconnection fee.

bgorgees, thanks for letting us know, mate. I appreciate it.
I'll go with xnet because of all the reasons TheBartender gave.
Hopefully that will work out. Orcon would be my second choice and their prices are almost identical for the same data amount but you have to have calls with them for the ten dollars off and they have a contract and they do charge for the data used or not. Xnet seems to have it's head screwed on straight plus I've been impressed with the guys/gals they have lurking on forums who answer questions.

happily closed my account with Woosh,  moments ago.

Are now with Xnet,    impressed  by helpdesk,  and customer service.
Weird query was sorted in two  minutes.  Lady spoke to manager and all sorted.  Well done.

so byeeee   Woosh.     Woosh  is the sound of the door as it hits your ar**.

If use less  than  100gig a  month.  Xnet looks best bet.

Say Brucie44  sent you,  you will be looked after.   ( my persaonal  recommendation ).

way to make out like you know everyone that works there.
the real reason you want people to say you sent them is so you'll get a credit, they won't get super amazing treatment like you make out.

laaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

Still would be nice to write "say I sent you there so I can get some of the referral credits".

People expecting total disclosure from their ISPs should provide the same to their peers.

Move on now...

Rubbish, dont believe it, post a speedtest.net pic please to verify.

I am still on Woosh...I have made the transfer to Xnet but forgot to give them my Woosh account details, so have had the swap over time delayed....any moment now....

Anyway, Woosh speeds are STILL rubbish!
