Refuse service? You mean cut someone's existing service off, just to get them to consent? Sounds more like blackmail to me.

Not really cutting off an existing service, just make competing a consent for fiber install to be part of the normal application for any service, that way it is all in order for when the time comes to swap over they can say.

But they could put in their terms that continued use of their services means they give up any rights to object about the installation of services which would hopefully override any objections that may come up when the govt finally change the process to working the way it should have from the start.

You don't have to ask them for permission for a pizza delivery, the postman, courier, storm water maintenence  - but you do to blow fibre down an existing pipe. It's just wrong. On top of this, the person opposing doesn't even live in NZ !!
