That's such an odd thing for them to say I would suspect there's a misunderstanding somewhere. Either you haven't interpreted what they have said, or there's something about the situation you're not telling us.

Based on the ADSL2+ speeds, VDSL will help.

We can certainly provide you with VDSL, sorry about the miscommunication. I have checked and it shouldn't be a problem even though you're at the higher limits of attenuation numbers.

We also had a test on your line and can provide you with the reason for the speed issues, give us a call and we can discuss it with you.
