That doesnt really look like a move to 998 at a skim of stats, spectrum would confirm it though.

what modem is that? Vigor130?

What could explain the boost?

It's been at 24.5 / 9.6 for months.

The DLM gods giveth and taketh away.

Also possible that something which was causing interference on the line has been fixed/removed recently.

so what do you do when the stats in your modem haven't changed in months but the sync speed keeps getting lower and lower for months I had an 37.4/10Mbps sync but over time it kept creeping down getting lower and lower it's now at 24/8.5Mbps so that's more than a 10Mbps loss in sync in a matter on of 3 months

That is the joys of crosstalk and being a marginal line.

The simple answer? You have a VDSL2 connection working to spec.

There are a large number of threads on here discussing crosstalk and the effects on VDSL2.

So in other words nothing,
sometimes I wonder what use is a technology if all it will eventually do is fail slowly, what was the original point of offering us something that in the end will become ultimately useless because of shoddy infrastructure and poor maintenance over a long period of time all because of an monopoly once called Telecom

but lines that are 30+ years old certainly would not help the situation infact the last time a chorus tech looked at my line his opinion was that the lines were were so corroded they needed replacing he also said that it would also never happen and to wait for UFB  well I been waiting and waiting and ........... waiting

thank  god we don't live in australia.

they don't even have 10 megabit upload available cheaply for most users.  and don't have all the cabinets around that we do, so most adsl connections that they do have have got worse connections than us.

its the way of the world, copper is dying, and Fibre is its replacement, there is no point in throwing thousands in to fix your line when its still working acceptably (maybe not to you) when UFB is coming in a few years
