By 'connection charge could be substantial', I think he means 5 figures.
If you could get a decent broadband plan out of an ISP, and you were staying in that house for a long time, it may be worth it to you (would be to me). It may add to resale calue of your house too, but probably not by the amount you will pay for the connection to be made.
An interesting development here. Now when I go to the Spark broadband site it tells me that 'ultrafast fibre is coming soon to my address - register interest' Senza, I suggest that you check your address. Like me you might be pleasantly surprised.
Can anyone from Spark or Chorus give any indication of the likely timeframe? - about 9.5km up Pyes Pa Road.
Oh, and needless to say I have registered my interest. Fingers crossed it's not an error with the map.
