Yes vdsl would be nice if i could get it i could. But to be honest the ADSL1 speed we get when the neighbourhood has no power (we have big batterys and generator) so no over loading would be a massive improvement on what we have now.

I was meaning is there any way to speed up the delay of 6 weeks after the upgrade before the isp knows about it that was messaged. Rather then to speed up the cabinet upgrade.

Will my adsl 1 speeds(slow due to cabinet overloading) speed up as soon as the upgrade is completed? Or do i need to wait until the isp knows about it?

It's all up to your ISP. I know with Spark it's normally 2 or 3 weeks.
But even on an ISAM on BUBA Ethernet you will be on ADSL2+ and your speeds should be very comparable with EUBA. So as soon as you're moved across your speeds should improve.

We have now reached the middle of august, No improvement - still ADSL1 - Still unusable slow most of the time.

Dont seem to be able to get any answers as to weather the upgrade has happened and we have not been changed over or if the upgrade has not happened yet. And if it has not happened when it is happening?

About the neighbour with UFB and a wireless link - there are threads on geekzone where that has been done with a single UFB connection to the property with successful results, and all the traffic for the two 'users' separated out securely using a router.  Basically you don't need two separate UFB connections to achieve what you wanted.

this thread for example: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=160385&page_no=2

I know that from a technical point of view and could have done that - but both neighbours who we could get the connection through would only agree if They had their connection in their name billed to them and we had our connection in our name billed to us. They don't really understand firewalling and that things can easily and safely be separated like that even when its explained.

Given Both are only on the 30Mbit plan, if they did not want it in their name - anti torrenting laws etc... I would have happily taken over the contract upgraded it to 100Mbit unlimited plan paid the whole bill myself and given them a 30mbit feed off of it for free

Chorus customer maps show it as June 2016 still

Prequal tool only shows BUBA, so isn't live by the looks of things

Network build shapes file shows it in the May 2016 list, which is a good sign it will happen, so hopefully by the end of the year.

Looks like the sub division / life style blocks on Eyredale Road have UFB.
