HI,

My address is now fibre ready as of today. What do you recommend the best internet provider. Bigpipe or Spark?

I ask Spark how long it will be connected to fibre it will take 3 to 5 weeks.  Any ideas about the installation time for bigpipe?

THanks

It depends on your definition of "best"

If you want internet only, no contract and prefer email support, Bigpipe.

If you want perks like free wifi when you're out and about, cheap movie tickets, a contract and a call center, Spark.

With Spark broadband accounts you also get free access to Lightbox and 5 free McAffee Security Suite licences, which is worth about $250 a year combined. I'm quite a happy customer - the only thing preventing me from being very happy is the current issue with very long phone queues for support. They do offer live chat or call-back, though, if you can't be bothered to sit on hold for 40 minutes.

Edited for clarification.

Seriously how long is a piece of string?

My UFB installation at my current house took 4 months. The house before that took 1 week, the house before that took 3 weeks.

Was having a look at NOW... any one have any experience with them on fibre? Do they use CG-NAT? Not much talk about them, I guess that could be either good or bad :-) Anyway, they seem competitive to Spark and 2D hence why I'm bringing them up..
