Probably a bit of both, and the fact that there is more infrastructure needed and more land to cover. Sucks about your ETA! Do you at least have VDSL/Cable?

Then you get the copper dead zones like me. 20minutes from the center of Auckland and 10meg adsl is the best available for another two years. 1km either side already have fiber  :-(

"20 minutes from the centre of...<a city>" doesn't count for much when it comes to things like broadband.

20mins from Auckland CBD will cover Kumeu to almost Papakura, Howick and Albany. That is about 90% of the city

Google maps tells you 21 mins with no traffic.

I lived out there for 2 years, I think I know how long it takes.

by this logic, I'll say I live 10 minutes from the center of Auckland then.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Yes, I must be about 7 minutes from Auckland CBD.
Where is @sbiddle when you need him, he explains this much distance-to-a-city-centre does not = better broadband than me.

Remember the OP was questioning Chorus's timetable, that's what the thread is about.

Yes, you're right - sorry. I just get frustrated with comments like that one.

There are no traffic lights its motorway and 2 roundabouts. I did Waimauku to CBD in 30mins most mornings leaving early.

Anyway this is getting off topic.

It has been said before on here, many times, someone has to be first and someone has to be last. Priority areas got done first, now they are doing it area by area. I am also over hearing people moaning about Otara getting UFB before they did like they are some kind of second class.
