Spam is changing all the time, so they generally like to use rules that can identify spam before processing the emails content to reduce load on the mail server, ie bounce it before it even arrives. Since you noticed some weird routing, I wonder if Yahoos mail server picked that up as well. They may have configured all emails sent from NZ to go through a different server that does not accept anything coming via USA, perhaps to give NZ better priority?
One would expect them to have asked Yahoo to plant those mail servers in NZ. Its not like Xtra dont have enough volume or somewhere to host the server.
zar: unfortnately from work iv done and despite previous happy post saying all route was to sydney and back, me and drones gounded routes to usa and back.
Can you clarify how you are determining this?
