richms: We have a naked slingshot connection and a flatmates provided xtra phone and dsl on the other pair.

Slight slowdown of one connection when the other is up for the second one to sync up, so I just have to reset my router when the flatmates is off - they turn theirs off at night because the lights annoy them.

Check out your house wiring, you can probably find that upgrading to Cat5 any wiring that shares the cable with your flatmate could make an improvement.

Time to find a new industry!

There is none, there are 2 jacks at the demarc and my router plugs in there, theirs is patched into the cat5 to their room where there is a filter and the router and a phone on it. It will be the miles of grotty copper outside thats causing the crosstalk. Its only 200kbit/sec, I get more varience between letting it sync at daytime and night time sometimes.
