is it posible to have multiple adsl accounts at 1 house and have some computers on 1 and the other on the other account
What i want this for is that i plan to have multiple computers running 24/7 and i want those computers to be on a different adsl connection from the rest of the computers in my home as i dont want them slowing every1 else down and my current connection cant handle that many of what i wanna do
(btw atm im on xnet fusion great product btw )

Add an additional line?

I don't think there are any other ways to have multiple Naked DSL connections on one line.

Only 1 account per line, so the only way is to have a second line / account sorry

No generally there will be a couple of Pairs to the house, Just in case people want a second line , so you wouldn't need to dig up the driveway

...however generally your Service Provider will let you know (we would get the info from Telecom) if theres a problem with a second line install.

so say that there is a second line there allready i could just get another naked adsl connection for that

(and a bit of the topic but if i got 2 adsl conections is there anyway to link them together to get a faster conection i was reading and it looked like that you can but only if the isp supports it and most dont)

You can do it yourself - feed the ethernet leads from the 2 separate ADSL modems into a load balancing router, but then you are back to the risk of some of your computers using everything that is available, until you restrict them via QoS or other network management.

yea i thought that but can i even have 2 naked adsl accounts on 2 seperate line in teh first place
and how many line do they usealy bundle together as in the future i might need more
and 1 more thing how much does it cost to add another line or 2 in in case there isnt any more there

Yes, as above, most houses have 2 pairs into them - get the second pair connected then you will have 2 phone lines then get adsl on the 2nd line. Or if you don't want phone talk to the legends at WxC and get naked DSL on both pairs.

bye 2 pairs u mean just 2 lines as to me a pair is 2 but im just wishing
and no offense to the good ppl at xnet but for this second line i might go with adifferent isp so if 1 goes down i have a spare
i cant stand to be without the net im an addict lol
but is load balancing still posibl ewith diferent isp ive heard ppl say it isnt

1 pair = 1 line, 2 pairs = 2 lines

load balancing using hardware on your local network is nothing to do with the isp. hardware will be pricey though . . .

Hey guys

Ive just moved to new zealand from south africa so im not sure if its possible here but i dont see why not.
from what i have gathered from adsl here in new zealand its pretty much the same as in SA.
so can u not set ur router to bridge mode so it operates like a modem and create pppoe dial up connections
on your pc. then dial up into ur adsl account??

i used to do this in SA as i had about 4 different adsl accounts from different isp's
as i said im not sure if its possible here. i dont know if ur accounts here are pppoe accounts or what not...

Hi Froggy, what you propose will not work here, all telecom DSLAMs/ASAMs/ISAMs only provide PPPoA not PPPoE, so unless you pc has an ATM stack it wont work. Furthermore all TelecomNZ ADSL circuits are configured to only support one PVC, so multiple connections via a single ADSL circuit will not work.

We have a naked slingshot connection and a flatmates provided xtra phone and dsl on the other pair.

Slight slowdown of one connection when the other is up for the second one to sync up, so I just have to reset my router when the flatmates is off - they turn theirs off at night because the lights annoy them.

You are quite correct, however Froggys post directly concerned multiple PPPoE circuits on a single ADSL circuit , something quite plainly not supported by any of Telecoms hardware.
