Yes and no..... pretty much 500m either direction of me has had it for a few months, but my block had to wait for some reason.  Got letter earlier in the year to say it'd be ready by early April.

Great news! Dates have become available for your UFB scope and installation. We've booked your scope in for Tuesday, 9th April, 2019 AM and your installation date for Friday, 12th April, 2019 PM.

That's an incredibly quick process! My scope date (today) was given 4 weeks ago. Can't believe how speedy yours will be - are you in an area that's had fibre for quite a while?

My install was done on the same day as the scope, as they said they may as well just do it now, rather than have to come back.

pknz: You're doing much better than me, ordered 18th of March, received consent email same day (shared driveway with one other house), Chorus phone call on the 25th saying they would need to cut the driveway. Nothing since.

Pffft.... thats better than mine!

Ordered 4th March and confirmation from 2degrees same day.  Email states I need consent (expected as I am on a shared drive way) and that Chorus will inspect to initially scope the work before notifying neighbours for consent process.  Advised this would take "up to" 2 weeks.  Still nothing. Don't think Chorus have even been around yet.

Chased 2d after 3 and bit weeks and was told it can take up to 30 days.  Will be chasing again soon.

And all while my VDSL slowly dies...desperately hanging out for Fibre rather than argue over line faults etc.

Edit: On the plus side... the neighbours I have spoken to have all said they want fibre too. So consent should be easy to arrange.

Be nice if that happens tomorrow..... Im hoping they let me get away with where I want it run etc.

Today was our scope day, and they have totally completed the install. They did a short shallow trench through our front lawn, and because there is tons of space under the house they were able to put the ONT exactly where we wanted it. Stoked!

Awww man, yea got the "up to 2 weeks" email too... waiting on the consent "package"? to arrive detailing the work they intend to do.

Definitely chase them up...

Still, your VDSL sounds better than my ADSL.

Chorus been, didn't object to where I want it installed, said they've got another job to do but should be back today to do it :D

I know its not a nice thought, a 40 something year old geek bouncing in his chair, but I'm really hoping the install is completed today :)

Ok....   Chorus on site doing install. Good.

Running it down right hand side of house. Which is the long way round to where I want it.

Oh well.

But theyve killed my copper already. Bad. Servers all offline. Bad.

Anyone know how soon the line is ready to use after its completed - I need to get my DNS updated and servers back online. @BigPipe ?

:)

After they did my install, it was ready to go as soon as they had mounted the ONT and activated it (they did something with a laptop).

I had my router preconfigured, connected it up and they then plugged their laptop into it for a speedtest. Very quick install and no issues (also with Bigpipe, but about 3 years ago).

Now, this HG659 dosent seem to allow my ports to work :( Have opened them, but port checking tools report theyre not open.

Maybe...just. Down to basically 15/12.  I may get the soldering iron out on the weekend and make sure its not my wiring.

However; all that said I got the package today! So we're on the way.  Their plan is what I expected they'd do.  Bit of a mix of soft trenching and shallow trenching (in the concrete).  Now to go see what odd jobs the neighbours need doing for me to push consent along a little quicker ;-)
