Should point out that in my case the modem is approx 10m of cable from the ISAM, we have one in one of our server rooms. As for 30a/35b as Atomeara said, only 8b/17a is supported.

only 17a when vectored too.

i forget which of 30a or 35b aligns to 17a but they again would need to have specifically the right bandplan.

Overall though, the gains to hardware cost is likely too high.

If you moved to VoIP (at customer end) and ditched ADSL and only used Chorus approved VDSL modems, and of course master filter; then VDSL would have fantastic reach for rural folks.

Honestly... a tower is due down the road soon.. I'd much rather petition for a few gpon fibres on that?

Wouldn't need a master filter if it's all VoIP. ;) Just directly wired.

Technically correct, but the amount of times I've fixed "only one jack-point " and find alarms, extra jack-points, stray feeds etc, etc. So to the masses, it's install a master filter.
