wot firmware u got (re GUI)?  D-Link or Xtra?  You should be able to port forward.  a quick google search offers some advice, e.g

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DSL-502T/

In regards to setting up to work with the wireless you may already know how to do that.

If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0

Mudz12: I hooked up my standard DSL-502T router and have not had a drop out so far.  So must of been the 504t router doing something.

If you want to continue using your old router, I'd suggest a firmware update may fix it.

Hey man im having issues with my router to. Thought it was overheating so I took the case of my router. The pcb was quiet warm so I touched one of those chips on my router and almost burnt my hand Cry. so maybe yours is overheating to? Oh and inside my dynalink rta1335 I found a surprise Laughing. There is a plug socket on the pcb which looks like a 4-pin plug for a fan. Laughing Im gona try it later on but i hope it doesnt break the router, and if it does break the router then hopefully not the fan as well.

true, mine 502t is not disconnecting anymore so that is running fine.  Hmm that could be the case, im surprised their is no fan found inside the router? considering most users will have it on 24 hours a day.  Anyway beenm connecting to my xbox wirelessly through my laptop bridging connections, which i found is unreliable because i loose connection to laptop every so often, i think its to do with some settings on the laptop.  Somebody mention disabling windows zero and ieee authentification
