2degrees is excellent technically and excellent service, but you pay $10/month for a static IP - you get IP4 and IP6 if you ask for that price.

Depending on who your mobile is with, consider 2degrees + the $10 Static IP addon. If your mobile is on-account with them you save $10/mo off your broadband which covers the Static IP. You also get a Static /56 IPv6 allocation. This means it is either $90/mo or $100/mo (without mobile). The router they provide is also very good.

Else Voyager are incredibly good - $99/mo for Gigabit + $14.95 once-off for a Static IP (put in the notes if you want IPv6 + a /56 allocation free of charge).

Don't go Vodafone...

Did you intend to write /56 for Voyager too, or has this changed?

My allocation from late '18 is a /56.

I don't think you'll find Vodafone recommended or given "the all-clear" by anyone on here. I'd suggest Voyager or 2degrees. Bigpipe is an option, but no phone support.

I’m on 2D with a free static but if I was going to get charged a premium for it I would be moving. They have worked as expected and I have had to call them… ever. So email support doesn’t sound like too much of an issue.

Sure, but you aren't your typical user, and have more experience and expertise so email support only is less of an issue.

I was simply making sure the OP knew that this is something that is different between Bp and the other offerings.

Another vote for Voyager. Once-off minimal fee to assign a static IPv4 and IPv6 (if requested).

I'd recommend orcon over voyager. Been with both and found orcon gigabit is faster and has much lower ping for gaming.

Interesting comments here - it appears that Seeby Woodhouse started Orcon many years ago and then sold it to Kordia (fully NZ govt. owned)  and then went on to start Voyager.

Based on the good comments here, the man must have a magic touch.  (except with women)

"ping for gaming" depends on the direction of the wind, how you hold your tongue and if it is raining or not. All ISP's are different here and there is no right ISP here. There will be some days where Voyager is better for example. Same goes for speed of a service - we've got it very lucky here in NZ.

Really depends on what path it takes.

However, I'd be surprised if there was much differance.
My latency dropped moving from spark to voyager.

Their mix of upstream providers seem to generally land a good mix.

Personally I go voyager, I've just grown to really like their onto it support folk. Works well for family members, there's someone who will fix the problem on the phone that's not me!

I have a feeling the free static for 2Degrees is only for customers who were with them prior to them using CG-NAT and found they had issues with the new setup.

Correct - I'd say there is almost no chance of getting a free Static now.

Not mentioned but Trustpower also allow you to opt-out of CGNAT for free and do v6. They have a significant amount of v4 space as the majority of their customers don't need a public IP.

So if you have a mobile with 2DM, then go with them.

If not, then Voyager for standard connections, or Big Pipe if you want a better uplink such as 100/100.

Voyager have been saying for a long time now they're looking into better uplink rates, but never seems to have happened :(
