I think with him opening up the "do not open" box this has probably damaged the cable, hence the charge.

I do try & be positive about Chorus, but sometimes they really leave you scratching your head.

You can’t dispute it either , my internet went off at the end of the street at 1030 at night they still blamed the builders send me a $1600 bill. I disputed it they weren’t interested ended up doing a building insurance claim so cost me $500. Terrible to deal with

Ouch, that hurts.

 

In fairness to them, everybody I dealt with there were extremely polite to deal with. The guy who reconnected the line stated that he had to charge it out as a damage before he even started working on it, as that's what he was called out for, but he didn't understand why it was logged through to him as a damaged connection. It might have just been a miscommunication between my ISP and Chorus, but was painful to deal with nonetheless.

I just gave up in the end easier just to pay them through insurance , hope you have better luck
