I'd be curious to know what the outcome is - sounds like it may not be subdivided into two separate addresses (which I've seen before); one address gets the install then a neighbour at the back has to pay for it.

I would be interested to see the policies in regard to cross lease properties. This thread may provide some help https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=49&topicid=239491&page_no=3

per above, INAL, but you both own the whole land equally, not a bit of a side each.

Yes their consent is required, and you're making a change, just like if you decided to cut down a tree on the property etc.

I can't see the reasonable grounds they are using to decline you installing fibre on your own property

They have previously and verbally consented to the conduit installation. Will get a written consent later.

Chorus can not withdrawal copper until fibre is installed at there cost.

The copper withdrawl code is very clear on this.

You can contact Chorus direct and failing that either TDR or ComCom

https://www.chorus.co.nz/copper-withdrawal (see the bottom of the page)

It is important you directly advise Chorus of the issues, as the RSP and Tech may not be relaying this back clearly.

Thanks for the suggestion! Someone from Chorus is already investigating into this. Hopefully this problem will be resolved with the investigation so I don't have to resort to filling a complaint.

Doesn’t matter, code states that all copper connections mist be replaced with fibre free of charge before copper can be removed, there are 4 ONTs on an unofficially split property in Wellington because of exactly this.

Any views expressed on these forums are my own and don't necessarily reflect those of my employer.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

It's likely they have kept the ONT of my area operational for years just for my property.

You don't have an ONT - that's what you're trying to get installed; it's part of the fibre install.
