Overdrive5000: 3- changing dns to anything other than default isp ones causes the connection to not work

Makes me think there's no IPv4 connectivity and only IPv6...

You could be right, because if I disable IPv6 in the router any devices connected by wifi cant access internet and on the pc(ethernet) I cant access google and a bunch of others, Its doing my head in shouldnt have shifted from Myrepublic

Windows network drivers can be pretty difficult sometimes, so worth checking the drivers are right. The fact you get a better result over wifi on the phone suggests an issue with the PC that needs to be resolved

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling ethernet adapter and still no change

Did you have a static IP on MyRepublic? 2degrees (ex-Snap) users with static IP have reported issues after getting moved across to the new 2degrees platform. Since Sky appear to now also be using this new 2degrees platform I wonder if something similar could be occurring.

This is all assuming you have no configuration conflicts on your LAN, like statically assigned LAN IP addresses or standalone DHCP servers from that of your routers which you have tried 2. Are your routers showing WAN IPv4 addresses in the 100.x.x.x range?

You would have ended up in exactly the same place as you are now given the MR customers are being migrated to the 2degrees network anyway.

As @yitz says though, what IPv4 WAN address are you getting? Can you ping IPv4 addresses, both local and WAN?

True, but at the time I didnt realise that sky and 2degrees were basically the same.

Can ping local fine, some wan addresses work but cant with google.co.nz

Yeah it's possible OP's MyRepublic connection has been migrated to 2degrees and the switch to Sky is yet to come.

Its strange though, my old router I used with myrepublic was a tplink archer c2, but couldnt use that one now because it doesnt support vlan tagging

If I unplug the ethernet and connect pc to wifi I can get 149mbps down still no where near 300 down though

Might try one of these https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/ADPUNI1040/Unitek-Y-3470-USB30-Gigabit-Ethernet-Converter-Sup and see if that helps

Yes unfortunately their help was basically reboots and cable swaps, then they decided maybe it was their router so were going to send out another one to see and call back, still waiting for it to arrive (been about 4 days now), hence why I bought a new router

Or the other possibly is that you've been migrated from MyRepublic to 2degrees on port 1 of the fibre box (ONT) and Sky's been activated on port 2.

Or you're correct and Sky BB also have two platforms the old Vocus platform (nztim might be on this)  and the new 2degrees platform.

Will try plugging into port 2 on ONT and see what happens then, will report back

Tried port 2 on ONT and nothing no connection at all
