kingdragonfly: I wasn't looking for "wireless", because I forgot it was even a thing.

by the way, that was buried in a bullet list, with collapsed headings.

@kingdragonfly It is not buried and the bullet list title is ' Fibre Connection '

Dude, I'm not going to waste anymore mental energy on this discussion.

You can argue whether it's obvious or not to yourself, while mumbling "well actually ... well actually ... well actually ..."

I noticed you deleted a second response about the contents of the web page, stating "I'm sure", before you actually visited the website.

@kingdragonfly I cleaned up a bloated post (picture attached was huge) and yes I 100% visited the website why would you say I did not?

Can we please stop with this discussion? The OP wants to find a deal. It was pointed out there are different pricing for wireless and wired.

End of it, FFS @linux

OP chose home fiber starter with OneNZ / Sky / Vetta (Who I put my Neighbour on)

All of them will be fine, and are price capped at $60 p/m you will get the best experience sticking with fiber rather than changing technologies.

kingdragonfly: Thanks NzTim

Vetta: Home Broadband & Services

Vetta is the parent company to Quic (popular provider here on geekzone)

The reason I went with Vetta for my neigbour is they wanted a landline and copper has been switched off in our area. and they are in the late 70s and want phone support (even though I am a short walk down the hill)

From their sign-up page

Or if you want their router (note the $17 is a one-off setup fee then $59 p/m

I'm confused about the "fibre speed boost." Am I missing something?

$59 / month
950 Mbps / 500Mbps
----
Add a fibre speed boost…

300Mbps / 100Mbps
+$36/month

I'll send an email to sales@vetta.online

It's $59 for 50 Mbps, an extra $36 ($95) gets you to 300 etc

If you change the drop-down box on "UFB Speed" total price changes

Home fiber starter $59, 300/100 $95, 300/300 $105, 950/500 $115

Just got this email from sales@vetta.online

"Our UFB plans start from $59/month

The lowest plan being the 50Mbps Download / 10Mbps Upload option.

950Mbps / 500Mbps is the max plan you can use on a standard UFB ONT with any higher plans requiring a Hyperfibre ONT. "

Which for your needs is most likely plenty

From our experience with Spark 4G, I would suggest staying well clear of it if you can get Fibre, no matter how much cheaper the wireless option is.  See https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=302863

Still getting same problems more than 10 months down the track, despite multiple attempts to get it fixed.  Are though hopeful that latest effort may sort the problems.  At last in touch with higher level support.
