Okay well it may have been somethin like that in another life hence two ONTs which had two separate internet connections

when you move in you will need to request the specific ONT you want livened when placing an order (as others have said)

No.

They're two ONTs. Nothing more.

Thank you. Is it possible to have two fibre lines going to one house?

Secondly, why doesn't the second ONT have the grey/phone line, more skinny cable looking cable going into it?

Technically all homes should have two fibres to facilitate unbundling where the retailers can lease the fibre line itself. I think it was part of UFB that this was included but I've not heard of any retailers taking up the unbundled offering. Each ont can have multiple connections using the extra ethernet ports which so the more commonly way to do multiple connections if they are wanted.

It's likely that ONT had a voice service provisioned on it and that the "grey/phone line" goes out of the ONT to the phone jacks in the house.

Wheelbarrow01: the wireless functionality within them is now unusable as we don’t offer that anymore.

https://www.chorus.co.nz/q/model-type-300 might need an update :)

"Chorus 3rd Generation ONT (Type 300) can turn into a residential gateway (RGW) with WiFi capabilities."

Noted - I'll get the page updated. The RGW service went into stop-sell in November last year, and any remaining connections still using it will need to be moved to a standalone router before we cut the service on 31 October this year. We are working with the relevant RSPs to facilitate this, but we are talking a very small number of subscribers.
